The first printing of Joyce's Dubliners, made in October 1926, was 5,000 copies. Barry Neavill points out that "[t]he First statement was retained on the second printing, which has a spring 1927 list (includes Hudson, Purple Land but not Hardy, Jude the Obscure)."

The first issue DJ for the 1969 edition has a $2.45 price on the front flap. The book itself is in the standard shorter Binding #13 format – 7 1/4" tall.
