Notes on American Poetry 1671-1928 The first edition book is in the early 1929 transitional binding. Both the dust jacket and the catalog at the back of the book carry the fall 1928 list (Apuleius, Golden Ass but not Dostoyevsky, Brothers Karamazov). The dust jacket didn't use the book title but rather used A Comprehensive Anthology of American Poetry. The editor Conrad Aiken revised the anthology (listed elsewhere on the main author page), published in early 1945 under the old dust jacket title—and finally the DJ and book had the same title.
